Exciting move to Washington DC!

News

The American Muslims for Palestine, (AMP) a national education and advocacy organization headquartered in Palos Hills, IL will be opening an office in Washington D.C. in February. Kristin Szremski, national director of media and communications, will relocate later this month to head the office. Working together with Washington DC-based national board member Dr. Osama Abu Irhsaid, Ms. Szremski will concentrate on national media work, coalition-building and will support legislative education efforts.

Ms. Szremski will be working under the auspices of AMP's fiscal sponsor, AJP Educational Foundation, Inc., whose mission is to support efforts to raise awareness about Palestine.

"I'm very excited to hit the ground running in Washington," Ms. Szremski said. "AMP is making an impact already, but now it's time to take our work to the next level by engaging face to face with national media, legislators and policy makers with strictly an educational agenda."

"I am sad to leave my friends and colleagues in the Chicago area, but this is an important step in the work being done for Palestine, and I am honored to have this opportunity to make a difference," she added.

AMP will continue to work in broad coalitions, and hopes to strengthen these relationships with other national organizations by having an official presence in Washington D.C.

The new office, located near the White House, Capitol Hill and the National Press Club, is expected to be open by Feb. 9, 2015.
