San Francisco bus ads appear despite fierce opposition from Zionist groups
The American Muslims for Palestine held a press conference attended by several media outlets on May 12, to announce its nationwide ad campaign calling for an end to Israeli apartheid and US support for Israel.
The Jewish Community Resource Council, the Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee tried hard to stop the ads by denouncing them as anti-Semitic and offensive to the organization Jewish community, a charge immediately refuted by Jewish Voice for Peace, Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb and other Jewish solidarity partners.
The attack by the JCRC and its Zionist partners ignores the fact that Israeli policies meet the legal requirements for apartheid, set by several international legal standards as well as a comprehensive study called “Occupation, Colonialism, Apartheid? A re-assessment of Israel’s practices in the occupied Palestinian territories under international law,” by the Human Sciences Research Council of South Africa.
