The American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) is honored to announce that representatives from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, an international organization consisting of 57 member states, will be participating in this year's Conference for Palestine in the US: Rising from the Ashes - Gaza Teaches Life!, from Nov. 27-29, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare.

Ambassador Gokcen, of Turkey, has a degree in international relations from Ankara University. He served as a Fellow in the Peace Making and Preventive Diplomacy, UNITAR - International Peace Academy, Oslo, Norway, program in 2007. Ambassador Gokcen also served as the political advisor to the Secretary General of the OIC from 2005-2010, before his current position as Permanent Observer of the OIC to the United Nations.

Dr. Awawdeh holds PhD in Middle Eastern politics from University of Exeter-UK. In 2001, he joined the Organization of Islamic Cooperation as a senior political officer to address the Palestine and the Arab-Israeli conflict. Dr. Awawdeh currently serves as the Deputy Permanent Observer of the OIC to the United Nations.
