Operations Manager
The American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) has an immediate full-time job opening in its Palos Hills, IL national office for an Operations Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
• Handle day-to-day office affairs, such as answering calls, inquiries and email communications;
• Follow up with donations and donors using the (Fundraiser) software, record payments, make deposits, create and mail out receipts and reminders;
• Prepare reports, presentations, memorandums, proposals and correspondence;
• Enhance and maintain mail and email lists;
• Enhance and maintain an up-to-date filing and archiving system;
• Coordinate and supervise mass mailings;
• Follow up with and coordinate all AMP projects, events, and conferences;
• Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization’s social media tools, in coordination with AMP media director;
• Manage day-to-day processing of accounts receivable and payable using QuickBooks;
• Contribute to short- and long-term organizational planning and strategy;
• Oversee organizational insurance policies;
• Maintain photo archives, media and publication files; and
• Other tasks as assigned.
This position will report to the AMP executive director. It will also coordinate with and assist AMP ED, AMP program director, AMP media director, AMP campus coordinator, AMP volunteers, AMP annual conference steering committee and AMP chapters;
Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in any of the following areas: Management, communications, IT, marketing, public relations, web development and design, English, business administration or similar field.
• Experience: Three years’ experience working in any of the following fields: Not-for-profit organization, office administration, marketing, and/or project and event management.
Qualifications:
• High level of proficiency with major Microsoft applications;
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with good grammar and punctuation skills;
• Highly developed organizational skills;
• Able to learn new software and technologies quickly;
• Creative problem solver with demonstrated initiative and is comfortable in offering ideas;
• Professional demeanor, punctual, dependable, pleasant, and positive;
• Self-starter with strong work ethic; and
• Able to work well with many types of personalities; manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; adapt to changing priorities; work effectively alone and in teams; work under pressure; and be able to meet demands.
Plus Qualifications:
• Knowledge and willingness to learn about the Palestine issue and issues related to local Muslim communities;
• Ability to speak in public;
• Arabic language skills (understanding, public speaking, reading and writing);
• Ability to work weekends and nights (if needed); and
• Knowledge in graphic design, Joomla applications, Adobe Creative Suite, including Photo Shop, HTML, online marketing services, online survey tools and social media tools.
